At the Goodyear Police Department, we recognize that behind every badge is a family whose strength and support make our service possible. The “Date Night” Program was created as a simple but meaningful way to honor and invest in the well-being of our officers, staff, and their loved ones.
Each month, team members are nominated by their supervisors to receive a special “Date Night” experience — a chance to step away from the demands of the job and spend quality time with the ones who matter most. Whether it’s a dinner out, a fun family outing, or a relaxing evening together, this program is our way of saying thank you for the sacrifices families make and the unwavering support they provide.
This initiative is part of our larger commitment to building a culture of compassion, care, and concern throughout the department. Led by our Police Chaplain Program, “Date Night” reflects our belief that when we care for our people and their families, we strengthen our entire community.
We look forward to continuing this tradition of appreciation and encouragement — one family at a time.
Supervisor Nominations
Each month, supervisors throughout the department are invited to nominate team members who go above and beyond in their duties, show outstanding teamwork, or demonstrate a positive attitude that lifts others up. Nominations can highlight professional dedication, personal growth, or special contributions that often go unnoticed.
Review & Selection
Once nominations are submitted, our Police Chaplain Team reviews them thoughtfully and selects recipients based on their impact and the heartfelt stories shared by supervisors. This ensures that every award is personal and meaningful.
Award & Celebration
Selected recipients are then awarded a “Date Night” package — typically including a gift card or special outing — so they can enjoy a well-deserved evening out with their spouse, partner, or family. It’s our way of encouraging balance, family connection, and time to recharge away from the demands of the job.
Ongoing Support
This program runs year-round, with new opportunities each month for supervisors to recognize deserving team members. It is part of our ongoing commitment to build a department culture where compassion, care, and family support are woven into everything we do.
Local businesses and community members who wish to support the Goodyear Police Department “Date Night” Program can make a meaningful difference by donating gift cards, sponsoring special outings, or providing services that help create memorable experiences for our officers and their families. Your generosity directly strengthens our mission to care for those who serve and the loved ones who stand beside them every day.
